Why do you believe this tree should be selected as the winner in this category?

This is our family tree. It was planted as a key and each limb represents one child. Late one fall before the leaves fell, we woke to find our tree split into three places like a banana. We were devastated. So we pushed the limbs back together and used straps with duck tape to hold it together while it healed. It is now thriving in our back yard and is our inspiration, because it defied all odds to survive.
